Southern Fidelity Insurance Company Goes Under

Even after recent legislative changes, the property insurance market in Florida still appears to be in trouble. Southern Fidelity Insurance Company was placed into an insurance company's version of bankruptcy by the state on June 15, 2022.

Homeowners who were insured by Southern Fidelity Insurance Company have until July 15, 2022 to find new property insurance in a limited and inflated insurance market. Homeowners should contact their insurance agent as soon as possible to find comparable coverage.

If you had Southern Fidelity Insurance Company and filed a claim, the Florida Insurance Guaranty Association will be stepping in to ensure your claim is handled. Homeowners have until June 15, 2023, to file a claim, if they have not already.
